I have been noticing a change in the attitude of bus riders in Edmonton over the last year. A very positive change. In the last year I have noticed in increase in the act of giving up a front seat of the bus to someone of greater need. Not only do more people stand up, but they also are more proactive about it. More riders are getting up before the bus even stops at the stop. No requests from the bus driver, just a wide range of the population helping out. And rarely are they moving back to get off at the next opportunity. Standing at the back of the bus can be a tough ride in a start and stop winter city. But more and more people are getting up to provide room for strollers and people with accessibility concerns.
