Hello there! If you are new here, you might want to subscribe to the RSS feed for updates from Seeing Change.

In recognition of  the International Day of the Volunteer (December 5th), Seeing Change has added a new feature to it’s site. VolunteerMeme.

VolunteerMeme is a new Twitter account and blog page to promote volunteer centers from around the world. Taking the RSS feeds that centers provide, and providing another venue for their success and needs. And by following any of the tweeps in the various lists will keep you informed of new ideas.

Volunteers make projects into communities. Their infectious desire to support the places they live is the cornerstone for many organizations. Now how to promote volunteer centers, and show the good they are doing. Here is where a “meme” is useful. From Wikipedia comes a great explanation. A Meme is “a basis for discussion of evolutionary principles in explaining the spread of ideas and cultural phenomena.” Now what better cultural phenomena to discuss and promote then volunteering. Help us bring volunteering to the forefront, and share in the discussion.
