Water is a big deal. Life does not exist with out it, as well; it is also a multi billion dollar industry. This challenges us to truly look at water, and make a decision on where we want our world to be in 10 years. Water management is finally on many governments agendas, and many more people are taking action to ensure clean safe water for the world.
First a little background. Treehugger.com has a great chart showing what percent of the world’s water is accessible and usable for humans, as well as how it relates to other water stats. It is amazing how little water keeps humans going.

Earth Water from Edmonton, Ab, Canada, is continuing to impact the bottled water market, by taking water sales from classic multi national corporations, and putting the money into water projects in areas of the world without clean / health water. This great article from The Edmontonian highlights some of their achievements.
Having worked on the river in Edmonton for many years, I have seen changes in flow, cleanliness, and vibrancy of the North Saskatchewan River. There has been great achievement in waste water treatment, to the point now that it is difficult to find evidence of the waste water once you leave Edmonton. This past year was also a somewhat scary year. There was no spring flood. In the 10 years that I have worked by the river, it has always risen to a point that I could not go on it. It is a prairie river, and I thought this would always happen. Well, it did not last year. And that did scare me. This has opened my mind to looking for new ways to conserve, clean, and promote water. With spring just around the corner, at least here in Edmonton (It snowed today), I look forward to implementing many of the projects and teachings that are shown today. World Water Day will show us what water can really do, and how we can improve it. Take this opportunity to take your drip, and change the world.
